    HE performance indicators for FEC’s Overview of trends for WP, non-continuation and employment PI’s

    The report provides a second year of data (2010-11) to enable consideration of the participation and non-continuation indicators relating to the entirety of HE provision registered at HEIs and FECs in England, as well as the first opportunity to do the same for the employment indicator. It provides participation, non-continuation and employment indicators of full-time HE provision at a sector-wide level

    MEG-JISC Dissemination Report Oct 2011

    In January 2011, the Mixed Economy Group of colleges (MEG) received funding from JISC to establish 5 prototype Networks of Practice. This report covers the one-day seminar used to showcase the outcome of the project.

    MEG members offer good value HE

    MEG has conducted a survey of the fees its member colleges propose to charge from 2012. The findings reveal that overall, member Colleges will charge an average of around £6,200.00 for a full time course at Honours level. Foundation Degrees will attract a slightly lower charge at around £6,000.00. Part time courses will in most cases have a fee based on a pro rata basis.

    HEA funds research into the pedagogy of HE in FE

    The HEA has directed a small sum of money to MEG to enable us to test the hypothesis that there is a distinctive pedagogy surrounding HE in FE. We will be approaching members for their views through a combination of a short survey and some telephone interviews.

    LSIS supports MEG as the sector lead body for HE in FE

    MEG has already benefited from grant support from LSIS to support research into key issues affecting HE in FE. Following detailed discussion, MEG has been asked by LSIS to act as sector lead body for HE in FE. MEG will support the work of LSIS by leading research activity of benefit to the whole sector and providing policy guidance and comment as the new landscape of higher education unfolds.
