Two things. First there is the fact that no-one involved in this debate – MPs, peers, college leaders, potential visiting speakers – seem to realise that colleges are covered by this latest law. We’re a sector that’s used to being under the radar but this time, we’re positively invisible. Second, it’s a threat to the very existence of college students’ unions.
